This site is on the Thruxton winterbourne section of the Pillhill Brook.
There are no invertebrate count results for this site as the brook is too narrow to make a kick-sample possible.
The winterbourne stopped flowing at this site on 31 June 2026 and dried completely the following day on 1 July.
This is a natural seasonal occurrence due to falling groundwater levels.
It is interesting to note that with groundwater levels matching that of 2025 (see Winterbourne Depth graph below) the winterbourne has stopped flowing at almost the same time as last year too.
